From the Pastor's Desk

We have served as your pastors for almost exactly 10 years. It seems hard to believe. I don't want to dwell on the past, but I do think it is important sometimes to see the big picture. Our church had been through some things, and it took a period of years to recover so that we can move forward in a solid, lasting way. Then the last few years, the church at large has walked through the pandemic. It may be our generation's equivalent of World War II. It is not a small thing, and we have yet to process the fallout.

Having said that, I am convinced that our best days are ahead of us, not behind us. I have preached in that general direction. In the midst of a troubled world, we are destined to walk in the power of God through intimacy with Him. In the last several years God has given us ministry to the addicted, the jails, the homeless, and a variety of others in an unconventional harvest. Now God is adding to that ministry to the youth of this generation. We are embracing that. Also, while we have done outreach in the past, we are in the planning stages of greatly expanded effort there.

We invite you to get up and run with us. God asked Jeremiah, "If you have run with men and they have worn you out, how will you run with the horses?" (Jer. 12:5). In other words, if you have allowed the minor frustrations of daily living to weary you to exhaustion, how will you fight the real spiritual battles God has for you? Will you obey the call to lay down secondary issues and pursue God and His will?
