From the Pastor's Desk

Any time you stay in a hotel you will notice that they have a sign hanging on the door that reads “Please Do Not Disturb”. It is there for your convenience to use when you don’t want to be interrupted by the cleaning crew. Do you ever feel at times like you wished you could have a sign hanging around your neck letting everyone know that you do not want to be interrupted or disturbed?

In Mark 5:21-43, Jairus’ was on a mission to get help for his daughter who was dying. He found Jesus and talked Him into coming to heal his daughter. All seemed to be going well when suddenly Jesus is interrupted by a touch from a woman who had an issue of blood for twelve years. She had spent everything she had to get better. But instead of getting better she was getting worse, at least until she touched the hem of Jesus’ garment and was made whole.

Now this crowd had already slowed Jesus down from getting to the place Jairus needed Jesus to be and now this. If that wasn’t bad enough, some messengers came from Jairus’ house to inform him that his daughter was dead. It’s too late now, so don’t bother Jesus any further. So Jairus had to have the faith to believe that just because Jesus had been delayed did not mean that He was not going to go and heal his daughter, and Jesus did.

There are times that our faith will be tested when we want God to move for us individually, on our timetable, and He seems to take the time out of His way to touch someone else. How will we respond?
