From the Pastor's Desk
Why is it that we do not see people actively seeking the baptism of the Holy Spirit the way we used to? I don't know all of the answers to that. In terms of our local ministry, I am sure there are things we could do better. And we do have to make the Spirit-filled message relative to a new generation. We preach about the Holy Spirit, we try to operate in the spiritual gifts in a balanced way, and we do have people baptized in the Holy Spirit from time to time. We do not see the regular hunger of people seeking the fullness of the Holy Spirit who have not yet been baptized that we used to see. We accept that there will be occasions when people pray in our altars, then receive the Fullness in their private prayer times. And that is fine.
My intent here is not to gripe. However, we should all be hungry for more of the Holy Spirit. I do believe that God is going to give a fresh outpouring of the Spirit to His people. Will you pray for that with us and ask God to stir your own heart? It is not enough to linger on the fringes, feeling that while a Holy Spirit encounter is fine for others, it is not really necessary for me. Jump in! The water is fine. God has more for all of us!
