From the Pastor's Desk

This Season, I have seen a TV show or two, maybe a Thanksgiving themed cooking show or something, in which they asked competitors what they were thankful for. The typical response had to do with family, which is a great thing, and I completely agree.

In addition to those things lately, I find myself wanting to give God thanks for the blood of Jesus. Scripture says, "He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins" (Col. 1:13-14). God brought us out of the slave market of sin and restored us to full status as His sons and daughters. We are redeemed! But it came at the cost of the life and blood of Jesus.

I am at a stage in life of reaping some really, really good things from life choices that God gave me grace for earlier on. And I am so grateful for that. What incredible blessings! But more than anything, I give thanks for the price that Jesus was willing to pay for me! How about you?

Happy Thanksgiving! We rejoice with you in all the wonderful answers to prayer and blessings you have received. But don't fail to thank God most of all for the price of the blood of Jesus that He paid for you. Nothing in all the world matters more.
