From the Pastor's Desk
Do you ever feel like you don't have much to offer to God? I'm sure we have all felt that way at times. Gideon certainly felt that way. The Angel of God called him a mighty man of valor and told him to go in that might of his and he would save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. What was Gideon's response? "O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house." (Judges 6:15) How many times have we felt like Gideon and thought we were too unworthy to do anything for the Lord? But the Lord assured Gideon, "Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man." (Judges 6:16)
Later the Lord told Gideon, "The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, 'My own hand has saved me.'" (Judges 7:2). God eventually dwindled Gideon's army down to 300. God would use those 300 men to give Gideon and Israel the victory.
There are many times that we feel like we do not have much to offer, but God can take what you have and use it for His glory. I want to encourage you today to use what God has given you and let's build the kingdom of God together.
