From the Pastor's Desk
The last few weeks, God has been doing some deep things in me personally. That affects the church because as scripture teaches, things tend to flow down. I have felt an intense call to a deeper place of surrender. That is never easy, especially at the beginning. At the same time and for a while now, I have been filled with an increased faith for a glorious future. It can take time and be challenging to balance faith and resting in the Lord.
We will soon begin a new adult Wed. Night Series, "Your Best is Yet to Come-Declaring Your Future." (I encourage you for Wed. Nights. Many of our adults say it may be their favorite service, and your teens and kids need the time of primary discipleship.) This area of teaching about the "future" is one that is new to me from the Lord. There are specific ways in which God wants us to approach the future. He really does care about our believing that He has a glorious future for us.
Please get Sept. 11 in your sights now. Rick Curry will be with us again for AM and PM services. The Appeal to Heaven Conf. was great. Remember when my brother was with us and told us to make personal preparation? If we will do that leading up to Sept. 11, there is no telling what God may do!
